Loverdose Diesel

Sunday, 10 February 2013

After about a year or so of smelling this perfume i finally decided it had to be mine. It's been around for quite some time, but now it's finally mine. Diesel Loverdose in my eyes is much more of a mature scent for myself.....

As i'm the kind of girl who sticks to scents full of sweet, citrus'y fruity goodness.
I like to try new things so this defiantly appeals to me as it's not totally different to others i use.
So the best way for me to describe this is it's, earthy, woody, sweet orange'y with i feel a hint of floral'ness going on once it's settled onto clothing and skin.
The names quite fitting considering that doom depressing day is looming upon us (valentines day!) and although the website description feels you with hope and a chance that you WILL have a line of attractive men trailing behind you i wouldn't be able to say that's
happened but one day most likely in my dreams....

Moving swiftly on, i love this Eau de Parfum and it's so worth a sniff next time your out doing some shopping. I purchased the 30ml bottle from boots at £32.40 as they have 10% off selected fragrances at the moment, but if you fancy something a little lighter they also do this in a Eau de Toilette version with a slightly different scent which is just as good but i just preferred this one.
Also it's staying power is great it fizzles out throughout the end of the day but the scent is still detectable which is a bonus!

What's your all time favourite signature scent?

Some Elf Bits

Sunday, 11 November 2012

Sticking with the hauling theme i ordered just a couple bits from elf and thought i'd give them there own post. Now after umming and arring for the past god knows how long deciding whether or not to buy the real techniques brushes (I THINK I SHOULD HAVE! INDECISIVENESS IS TO BLAME) i ordered some elf ones instead, these are my first impression after using them for a around a month or so.....

After buying the one from the £1.50 range a while back i decided to get this one too. On trying this out i can't fault it does do a good job with the application of blush/bronzer (just what you need) and is so worth the £3.75 i payed, also on the plus side it's soooooo soft and so much better the the cheaper brush.

Reading the many reviews on this brush the skeptic inside me wanted to try so i did. Surprisingly i am surprised (i'm easily pleased sort of) but i really really like this brush used in conjunction with my elf powder brush. I wouldn't say it will be long lasting if you use it every single day as the bristles seem to invert into the middle of the brush (but that just might be me and my uncarefulness.....) other than that though it's a must have to try before investing in a more higher priced one i think. I have to say too i definatly perfer this style of brush rather than my no7 or elf flat foundation brushes.

This is my 'buffing brush' which works well to add the finishing touches to my foundation (i can't compare it to anything because, well i don't have anything flat edged like this) it also works well for its original purpose if appliying compact or mineral powder just like any other brush but i have found that you can press product into the skin and buff of the excess a lot easier (a technique i learnt from the gossmakeupartist!) as it's quite dense and structured better than just a regular fly away bristled brush.

This was completely one of those impluse buys but i'm so glad it was! It's so useful in helping to distribute product more evenly in my eyebrows and helps separate my lashes taking away any clumps of mascara. I just wish i'd of bought two one for each purpose because cleaning it is a pain!

Next up a life saving essential there's not much i can say other than they do there job pretty well without leaving any residue on the skin which is what i like best about them making them a reacurring purchase of mine.
This is the most disappointing of the lot it just didn't live up to my exceptions, when i first got it i swatched the product and nothing... nothing was on my finger it just didn't show up but after rubbing it it did eventually show up! The product it's self though has a lovely soft velvet'y texture, it's just not got much pigmentation which i defiantly think you can find in products even cheaper than this one. Although it was a let down the bright side is i'm super pale so it shows up ever so slightly but i don't think i'd repurchase anymore of them.

What's your favourite ELF product and/or your biggest let down?

Duo Boots Competition

Duo Boots Competition by wonderrcolourbehind

It's the last day of a generous competition DuoBoots are holding to win a pair of shoes of  your choice amazing! Details here!
Before this competition i'd never heard of the brand duo boots but my oh my they sell some lovely quality shoes slightly out of my price range but a girl can dream right? ha.

They were four particular pairs that took my fancy, (Woodbury, Gable, Dubois the ones i choose! and Avron), so i found it rather difficult to choose just ONE pair to make an outfit with but i succeeded as you can see from my entry above.

I didn't have a certain theme in mind so i made an outfit for an everyday casual, comfy, relaxing look which i think complements the boots pretty well especially with the autumn'y colours, the accents of studs and a military style coat. Overall i have to say i'm in love with this outfit but sadly my bank account doesn't agree. :(

P.s. I couldn't decide between leggings or skinny jeans so went with both!

Hope you like my entry !

What's your favourite style of footwear for autumn/winter?

NOTD #1

As a nail polish addict i love to paint my nails but i don't get to do it that often due to work so i always jump at the chance when i'm off to put some colour and sparkle onto my hands (because who doesn't love a a bit of sparkle?)
These are the the polishes i used:

Barry M Diamond Glitter
Barry M All in One Basecoat, Topcoat and Nail Hardener
No7 Stay Perfect Quick Dry Top Coat
Models Own Purple Passion
Models Own Ibiza Mix
So on to the nails, i choose purple just cause i loveeeeee purple, it was the first time trying out the models own polishes too and i have to say why have i not bought any of these before!? The colour is opaque in just two coats with it only literally taking a few minutes for it dry, amazing! I decided to go with both glitter polishes as i was just trying the Ibiza mix out so i only used it on one nail. To top it all off i used my favourite topcoat by No7 a discovery made all from those oh so wonderful no7 boots vouchers i don't no what i'd do without it.

Just a little fact to finish with, it has taken me just over 2 years to be able to paint my nails 'properly' without painting the whole of my fingers and slapping so much on my nails they just end up in a smudged sloppy mess.
Crazy i know..

Do you love or hate glitter polish?
