Natural Collection Lipstick Pink Mallow Review

Sunday 28 April 2013

Now the colour pink mallow screams me, it's defiantly my go to lip colour, it's a great neutral pink and what's even better is the £1.99 price tag the Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipsticks are great for someone on a budget or if your just experimenting with a pop of colour.

However they're some tiny downfalls nothing major, the packaging is so so nothing great I guess and with this lipstick bullet in-particular it is a little loose and rattles but other than that I couldn't fault it.

But something I learned is don't use too much pressure when using it as the bullet will break and plop on the floor (thankfully i took the picture before this happened) it is still use-able as I saved it but be warned!

Moisture Shine Lipstick
'high shine lipstick that gently moisturises the lips'

As for the colour it's surprisingly pigmented which is amazing for the price, the perfect pink colour in my eyes, that stays on for up-to 2 hours before you need to look in the mirror to reapply, I found it to be opaque and even in two applications also it gives a really nice sheen to lips as well as great moisturising benefits it's not too drying but not too greasy/wet that it feels uncomfortable to wear, there can be little bleeding of colour if you pack too much onto the lips but other than that I will be checking out some of the other colours they have offer!

MUA Extreme Felt Eyeliner Black Review

Upon purchasing the MUA Eyeliner I thought this would be a great alternative for my ELF Black Liner something that's easier to pick up and for just 50p more I couldn't wait to try it!

Now for me this product seemed exciting it has a large tip which looks super intensely black just what I was looking for. Then I applied it, the colour turned out a black'y/grey, it was slightly difficult to apply and achieve any sort of colour pay off to begin with as the pointed nib was quite stiff while the bottom of it was squishy. Also it was hard layering the colour to make it any darker! This product is certainly not my cup of tea, when something described as black I actually want it to be BLACK not a faded grey colour. For the price of £2 I suppose I shouldn't complain too much but considering other liners just as cheap as this one it's just not for me.

Do you prefer an intense black liner and what's your holy grail eye product!?

Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick in Crimson Review

Wednesday 24 April 2013

I'm not one to wear crazy in your face lip colours but on yet another trip to boots during their 3 for 2 deal, I picked up one of the Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipsticks in Crimson.

These are great budget lipsticks so worth the £1.99 price tag, but there are some defiant downfalls.
The packaging isn't great the lipstick bullet inside feels slightly loose and well trying to apply it is a whole new ball game. Use any pressure and it's a goner as I found out with another I purchased at the same time in the colour pink mallow (review coming soon.)

But surprisingly the pigmentation is amazing for the price, i'd say it was a true red colour, that stays on for up-to 2 hours before you need to look in the mirror to reapply, I found it to be opaque and even in two applications also it gives a really nice sheen to lips as well as great moisturising benefits it's not too drying but not too greasy/wet that it feels uncomfortable to wear, there can be little bleeding of colour if you pack too much onto the lips but other than that I will be checking out some of the other colours they have offer!

NOTD #3

Monday 22 April 2013

So I have yet another NOTD featuring a few glitter of my favourite glitter polishes, I'm a sucker for sparkle but there such a pain to remove, i guess it's all worth it in the end though right?

 (from left to right)

Technic Carnival, Models Own Ibiza mix, Barry M Diamond Glitter, Models Own Snow White,
Barry M 3 in 1 , No7 Topcoat.

This photo doesn't do my nail painting skills justice but nevertheless I really like the combination of glitters against a white background and had to share them with you all!

What's your favourite nail combo?

Natural Collection Juicy Lips In Fondant Review

Now for me i like a sheer colour on my lips not so much with a super glossy finish because i have oily skin, so having a shiny face + glossy lips just doesn't look great especially on me.

So upon browsing boots whilst there 3 for 2 offer was still around i thought i'd check some of the cheaper brands to see what could entice me in and well enticed i was,

The Natural Collection Juicy Lips i picked up is in the colour fondant it's a pale peachy colour which looks quite milkshake'y on lips with a surprisingly pleasant smell somewhere between white chocolate/iced doughnuts?
It has a standard doe foot applicator in packaging that's cheap and cheerful.

'Intense colour and shine with juicy flavour'

But the best part is the colour, i usually stick with pinks/neutral already there lip colours, not too in your face, now i know this isn't out there by any means but for me its something different.

The colour pay off is just a slight sheen but certainly buildable, also the moisturising benefits are pretty good not what you'd expect from something that was only £1.99 it doesn't feel cheap compared with the MUA £1 glosses.

Last of all the lasting power isn't the best once you've had a drink, eaten some food and done whatever else you and your lips get up to, but a little reappliance don't hurt no-one.

8 ml for £1.99 from boots

Neutrogena Pore & Shine Visibly Clear Scrub Review

Sunday 21 April 2013

After seeing this scrub appear on a few blogs i just knew i had to pick it up, i suffer from oily combination skin and this product just seemed perfect but is it?

In one word YES i'm a big fan of Neutrogena scrubs and washes it's definitely my go to brand for skincare goodness so after using the Pore & Shine scrub for around 2 months it's time to tell you what i think.

The product itself has a white runny consistency with green coloured beads which has tiny sand particles that  all help with the scrubbing action.

It aims to visibly mattify skin tighten pores with help from the tangerine & lime goodness plus it has a scent of tangerine & lime, so refreshing especially when using it as a morning pick me up!

Just from using this i don't see a massive difference with visibility of pores but with the shine aspect of things i really do feel it's helped reduce shine for a couple hours during the day and because of this my face doesn't feel super clogged up as it would a few months ago!

I only use this once a day as it actually instructs to do, which i like a lot, as with any other wash or scrub my face turns into the sahara desert , it just can't handle excess washing so in the morning i actually use the Pore & Shine daily wash, just as good but without the scruby dubby bits.

So all in all it helps prevent me from getting blemishes and really has reduced my shine what more do you want!?

150 ml for £4.49 at Boots,
Plus the wash I mentioned is £4.49 also from Boots!

Herbal Essences Beautiful Ends Split End Leave In Cream Review

So with my hair growing to be in competition with rapunzel, i'm holding out to get it cut as i'm in two minds whether to go short or stay long, with that in mind i wanted something to keep my hair in reasonable condition as its getting a little bit brittle/ dry, plus i tried to ombre it using the L'oreal wild ombre kit but i didn't leave it on long enough for it to show a difference so i may try doing that again.

But before i do i want smooth luscious locks that are in tip-top condition, a girl can dream!

The Herbal Essences Beautiful Ends Cream was on offer when i picked it up in superdrug which made the decision of getting it that little bit easier.

The product is a leave in conditioning cream, with a thin consistency housed in a pump action bottle, it's just a white coloured cream which smells amazing of fruity raspberry goodness which you apply onto towel dried hair, which it claims to smooth and protect the ends of your hair.

I've found it does this brilliantly you can definitely see and feel a difference compared with when i wasn't using it at all.

A little bit of this product goes along way as i found out the hard way. I just kept adding more and more to not just the ends which wasn't a great idea the next day was a greasy disaster. So just remember the product is only for the ends of your hair!

The only downside for me is the cream has such a lovely smell upon application but once you dry your hair there's not much scent left hanging around maybe its just me but other than that i couldn't fault it!

Would i repurchase? Of course but only if my hair needed a little pick me up! But i'm sure this bottle will last quite a while.

150ml for £4.79 currently on offer at superdrug 2 for £6!

NOTD #2

Tuesday 16 April 2013

Just simple NOTD featuring a beautiful pastel coloured polish that I picked up for a pound in the poundshop! (Oh really becca I would have never guessed..)

I knew I just had to get it.
It's in the colour blue lagoon and as it is my first Revlon polish (I'm a Barry M kinda girl), I was quite surprised by the constancy not being to watery plus the brush was the perfect size to apply the polish somewhat 'neatly' also it dried rather quick. So there's not much to complain about for pound but of course me being me I always find something.
In the bottle the colour has this gorgeous pale blue shimmeryness to it but on the nails NOTHING :(.
So although that was a little disappointing its nothing a small particle glitter polish can't sort out.

I always use the top coat from No7 and the Barry M all in one, such amazing necessities and their not super expensive either!

So there you have it another nail of day complete with a furry background thanks to my lovely dog!

Have you picked up any nail polish bargains recently?

A Few Recent Purchases...

Sunday 14 April 2013

These are just a few accidental purchases made in the past few weeks, I guess I got my spending bug back.

I'm not a big spender when it comes to high end make-up, I just don't feel ready to dip my toe into the deep end and waste money when I don't really have much of it to spend on things I might not even like.... so cheap and cheerful is what I'll stick too for now.
MUA Matte Perfect Foundation-Shine Control
MUA Cover & Conceal Concealer
MUA Extreme Felt Eyeliner
Just a few bits to spruce up the lips...
Plus an an amazing duo chrome nail polish from Miss Sporty.

The pink shade is by Natural Collection in Pink Mallow
The red one is in the colour Crimson.
Now I only needed to repurchase the blotting sheets but I mean come on you can't just buy two things when you can get a free gift worth £9 can you? Well I know I cant ha.
Elf eyelash & brow wand,
Elf brow and brush comb,
Two elf shine eraser sheets,
Elf Blush in the colour blushing,
Elf Sheer eyelid primer
Elf waterproof eye-liner pen in black and purple.
The elf contouring blush and bronzing powder in Turks & Caicos.

FGW!

Now for the amazing part my first ever faux leather jacket! How exciting eh? After bidding and bidding some more then loosing at the last minute on eBay for one, I gave up with the hope of finding a brand new one on the high street and that I did. This was originally £30.00 from H&M but for some reason they had a deal on selected items for 50% off new releases so even if I do say so myself what a bargain.
Casual bag-winged style slouch cardigan from Internationale.

I love love love this dress... also from Internationale!

A purchase from eBay I actually won!
I do own a khaki coloured one of these dresses but after a night out its not very wearable anymore but I love the style and it will be perfect to wear in summer if it ever arrives!

Next up is a jacket that was also 50% off at H&M  I featured on similar in my passion for fashion post here
which was a little on the pricey side so this was my alternative for a fraction of the price at £15.
(the colour's also a lot more lime'y the picture doesn't do it justice!)

Last of all another dress from Internationale that just screams summer don't-cha think?

Look out for reviews on most things in this 'haul' coming soon!

Models Own Toxic Apple Review

Monday 1 April 2013

So a few weeks ago Models Own brought out the oh so amazing Fruit Pastel and Ice Neon collections, upon browsing as well as lusting over them both I realised I actually own one of the polishes from the neon nail collection in the colour Toxic Apple.

I'm not overly sure but by reading the description online the neon's are packaged in frosted bottles..

'The only way to keep fluoro really bright is to KEEP IT COLD! We've packed this collection in specially-designed frosted bottles that you should keep refrigerated to protect the intense fluoro colour from fading. These on-trend neon shades bring summer alive with fluoro flavour, bold and bright'

Which the one I have isn't but nevertheless it's still green and neon so guess there's not so much difference after all.

The colour is pretty intense traffic stopping in fact, (ok not so much but eye catching at the very least)
and it's a great addition to your collections right now what with the neon trends making there presence known once again, but there's something I have to say I'm not the biggest fan of the formula I just find them that little bit too runny/too watery side for my liking, I even find the brush to long to be able to control the amount you actually put on your nail and for this particular polish a base-coat is ESSENTIAL, otherwise it'll look like you've been doing a spot of gardening.

So although the Models Own paints aren't my first choice of polish there bearable and I guess reasonably priced at £5.

What are your thoughts on the Models Own Polishes?
