Top 5 Favourite Affordable Blushes | Swatches

Sunday, 26 October 2014

Blush was always the most scariest make-up product that I stayed well away from why?

Because having a face that consists of permanent blushed cheeks I totally didn't want to resemble a clown.

A few years later having grown more confident and less red in the face after mascara blush has to be my most loved product, it just frames the face giving me a lovely natural glow, livening up my complexion.

First up my most used blush has certainly been the best which is the Natural Collection in shade SweetCheeks £1.99, this powder formula can be a little bit cakey if too much is applied purely as the colour can look not so natural, however using the right amount gives a lovely autumn out in the cold finish, which lasts with the right base up to 6 hours or more.

MAC Limited Edition | Lured to Love

Having pale skin choosing the right shade of blush

can be difficult,so anything other than pink doesn't interest me. Although peach colours look great if I do say so myself this has a gorgeous mineral sheen finish which its so long lasting its insane.

Hervana Benefit Blush £23.50 was the one I’ve always wanted to try and I did just that, from it's light fresh scent to the perfectly put together shades with added shimmer it creates a canvas helping you go from day to night depending on how intense or how lightly you apply this blush it definitely is worth every penny.

Now an affordable blush has to be the Elf shimmering shade in Tickled Pink £3.95 this product is one I reach for on days I don't want a particularly made up face, a swish of this on the cheeks leaves me with a glow that's just what I look for on days off.

Last of all trying new formulas always makes me wary so obviously why not try a cream finish from Bourjois Nude Velvet 01 £7.99 this has taken me time to get used to also finding the right brush to applicate can be tricky but mixed with a stipple brush and a little patience this cream to powder finish leaves a bright pinky coral illuminated finish.

Makeup Revoultion Amazing Lipsticks | Reviewed

Sunday, 14 September 2014

Matte formulas are what I'm all about this summer, I adore moisturising matte to semi-matte finishes but spending money on lip products which I don't wear as often as I should just doesn't appeal to me. So high street beauty will always be where I will search High & Low for my next wanted colour.

So with a new brand on the block offering budget friendly formulas I couldn't resist at £1 a pop.

I'm always looking for the perfect pale dusky pink shades which suit my skin tone amazingly.

After hopping online to find some goodies makeup revolution have I decided that even though there is variety of shades available they were either not my colour or not the finish I desired.

The first shade I picked was a matte finish in NUDE it was one of those it's only a pound I'll try it Kim K looks good in that colour so I will right? Wrong, although it looks slightly strange on the eye giving me the dreaded year 9 concealer lips so wearing on it's own is a big no-no, i've found it really helps intensify other shades helping to keep my lips slightly moisturised prolonging the wear of better colours on top.
On the lips it looks fine lasting between 2-3 hours providing lips are exfoliated & moisturised before hand otherwise they can feel drying.

This pinky matte shade in DEVINE has got to be my favourite purely as it looks great in
all weathers for all occasions, last of all on pale skin tones too.
Again with it being the same formulation as before this lasts up to 3 hours as long as you've prepared your smackers before.

I do like the shade MYSTIFY it has more of a sheen glossy finish compared to the others, you can get away just applying straight to your lips too with added moisturising benefits & no drying out in sight.
Lasting power | up to 2 hours as it transfers quickly leaving it to be rubbed off a lot more easily.
Another desirable attribute this shade has is the blue undertones it contains which are perfect for giving you the illusion of even brighter pearly whites!

The only downside to these are the packaging, 2/3 no longer have the easy to use twist up  action as the outer tube that helps do this has completely just unglued coming apart,
making them a little more fiddly to use.

At a bargain price of £1 though, more patience in a morning won't hurt.

Vivo Eyeshadow Unprotected Palette Review + Swatches

Thursday, 29 August 2013

As a budget friendly beauty lover I'm always on the look out for products that are great in quality that won't make my bank balance wince and featuring in this post i think i may have found something very budget friendly!

If you already saw my Vivo Cosmetics Haul then you will have seen/heard about the 50% offer they had across the whole website once i took advantage and the Vivo Unprotected 12 Eyeshadow Palette is something i picked up along with many other goodies (reviews coming soon!)

The Unprotected Palette contains a mix of 12 shades ranging from matte to shimmery which come housed in a reasonable plastic casing which also includes a sponge applicator too.

If you've been living under a rock for the past year or so then you'll know this palette as well as the MUA ones are dead ringers for the Urban Decay Naked Palettes.
I can't give you any comparison between them as i don't own them but i do love the Vivo Unprotected Shadows.

 First Swatch

 Second Swatch

As you can see from the swatches i would say most are fantastically pigmented shades of colour but some of the matte shadows defiantly need a bit work before they come to life but they're super soft in texture certainly not chalky and work 10x more better with an eye primer (i use the ELF one) which I'm sure from the images you can see this for yourself.
I also like how each colour is given a name little touches like that make the biggest difference.

With Primer

I did create an eye look using this palette but the picture quality isn't so great but regardless the shades i used are:
Wisp (matte light brown) Today (shimmery milk chocolate) Flutter (matte caramel shade) Devine (shimmering dark brown) can't tell i have a sweet tooth can you ha!

Vivo Unproteced 12 Shade Eyeshadow Palette 8.4g for £3.99
Exclusively available at Tesco or online at vivocosmetics.co.uk

Top 4 Summer Brights Polishes

Monday, 26 August 2013

Nails for me certainly pull an outfit together and add that much needed finishing touch so if my nails aren't painted i just don't feel completely done (i know I'm strange but that's just me for ya.)

So with that in mind I'd thought I'd share with you some of the more brighter colours I've been gravitating towards these summer months to prettify my nails and toes.

So there you have it these are a few of my summer bright polishes that i will probably continue to wear thoughout the Autumn/Winter months because if your anything like me i defiantly find it hard to stick to nail polish trends purely because i have so many nail paints to use up but also once a colour catches my eye i will wear it regardless of the in trends/weather.

I hope I'm not the only one to do this!

All the above nail paints range from £5 - £1.99 so very much bargain buys especially considering the quality of each one is fantastic and they all dry super quick as well as you only needing two coats for complete opaque'ness + don't forget you can still pick up Essie polishes for £1.99 from fragrance direct!

Whats your go to colour and brand that you would recommend?
