Vivo Eyeshadow Unprotected Palette Review + Swatches

Thursday 29 August 2013

As a budget friendly beauty lover I'm always on the look out for products that are great in quality that won't make my bank balance wince and featuring in this post i think i may have found something very budget friendly!

If you already saw my Vivo Cosmetics Haul then you will have seen/heard about the 50% offer they had across the whole website once i took advantage and the Vivo Unprotected 12 Eyeshadow Palette is something i picked up along with many other goodies (reviews coming soon!)

The Unprotected Palette contains a mix of 12 shades ranging from matte to shimmery which come housed in a reasonable plastic casing which also includes a sponge applicator too.

If you've been living under a rock for the past year or so then you'll know this palette as well as the MUA ones are dead ringers for the Urban Decay Naked Palettes.
I can't give you any comparison between them as i don't own them but i do love the Vivo Unprotected Shadows.

 First Swatch

 Second Swatch

As you can see from the swatches i would say most are fantastically pigmented shades of colour but some of the matte shadows defiantly need a bit work before they come to life but they're super soft in texture certainly not chalky and work 10x more better with an eye primer (i use the ELF one) which I'm sure from the images you can see this for yourself.
I also like how each colour is given a name little touches like that make the biggest difference.

With Primer

I did create an eye look using this palette but the picture quality isn't so great but regardless the shades i used are:
Wisp (matte light brown) Today (shimmery milk chocolate) Flutter (matte caramel shade) Devine (shimmering dark brown) can't tell i have a sweet tooth can you ha!

Vivo Unproteced 12 Shade Eyeshadow Palette 8.4g for £3.99

Avon Nailwear+ Nail Enamel Reviews

After hearing that clink from the letterbox your always intrigued to see what's just arrived.
Well this was defiantly one of those moments once i saw the infamous Avon Brochure land right on my doorstep.

Even as a child that little book filled with goodness has always excited me especially when you get to rub your hands on the perfumed pages (amazing invention, i still always have to have a cheeky rub to this day) but now as an elder person, 18 to be precise, its nice to be able to browse throughout the whole book with a little knowledge of what everything is for and not just be confined to the ColourTrend pages as mum wouldn't buy me any of the 'expensive grown ups makeup'.

Oh the memories, anyway moving on to what you actually came here for...

Avon Nailwear+ Nail Enamel in the colour shades, Sea Breeze (mint green), Divine Lime.

Upon getting my hands on these polishes i fell in love with the Divine Lime colour instantly its defiantly screams summer to me and with the added shimmer running throughout it certainly adds a glamorized finish to your nails.
Just to point out its not 'in yo face' super shimmery but once your nails catch the light its noticeable.

As with the Sea Breeze polish this shade of green looks prefect even with my fair skinned colouring and for me this is the go too colour for a day in the sunshine or a holiday abroad!
Something that I've noticed too is that it has a glossy finish once dried so if your in a rush, a topcoat isn't necessarily needed unless of course you want to prolong the wear, but for each of these nail enamels they both dried super quickly and needed 2-3 coats depending if you waited completely for it dry before reapplying also they lasted around 6 days before starting to look chipped and tatty, what more could you ask for!?

Top 4 Summer Brights Polishes

Monday 26 August 2013

Nails for me certainly pull an outfit together and add that much needed finishing touch so if my nails aren't painted i just don't feel completely done (i know I'm strange but that's just me for ya.)

So with that in mind I'd thought I'd share with you some of the more brighter colours I've been gravitating towards these summer months to prettify my nails and toes.

So there you have it these are a few of my summer bright polishes that i will probably continue to wear thoughout the Autumn/Winter months because if your anything like me i defiantly find it hard to stick to nail polish trends purely because i have so many nail paints to use up but also once a colour catches my eye i will wear it regardless of the in trends/weather.

I hope I'm not the only one to do this!

All the above nail paints range from £5 - £1.99 so very much bargain buys especially considering the quality of each one is fantastic and they all dry super quick as well as you only needing two coats for complete opaque'ness + don't forget you can still pick up Essie polishes for £1.99 from fragrance direct!

Whats your go to colour and brand that you would recommend?

Yankee Candle Haul

Sunday 25 August 2013

So as my mums birthday was recently, buying a Yankee Candle was an obvious gift choice so with a shop full of amazing candles and wayy too much temptation i didn't just purchase a present for mum.
I may have also made a naughty treat purchase for myself (who cares about paying for car insurance right?!)

So fresh is the Fireside Treats with a home'y food'y scent i can definitely imagine a fire in the woods camping toasting marshmallows, (cringing so bad because of all the creepy crawlies ahh bliss.)

This scent Bahama Breeze reminds me so much of past holiday's so with the last of the sun making an appearance i just had to have it!

This Summer Scoop candle literally smells good enough to eat simply delicious,

These scents were one of the first Yankee Candles i ever bought so at a £1 each i couldn't just leave them  smelling full of fruity goodness.
Whats your fave Yankee Candle scent?

Kleenex Oil Blotting Sheets Review ... Summer Essential

Sunday 4 August 2013

These bad boys are a face saver when it comes to heading out in the summer weather or just in fact any weather if you're blessed with the almighty fantabulous combination/oily skin. So if your anything i like me I'm more often than not, on a search of products that will help keep my shine at bay.

Now this is where the Kleenex Oil Blotting Sheets make their worthy appearance these have been a staple in my bag ever since i picked them up on a whim at the beginning of June, to me this product is everything i could ask for.

 What they claim to do?

"Dab away excess oil and keep your make-up intact."

In all honesty this is true they're the best I've tried yet.
They don't leave a residue of powder on skin, they come housed in a sturdy cardboard envelope (with a peel away sticker to help remove one sheet at a time from the pack as and when you need them.)
Also with the actual sheet being purple i was a bit skeptical in case they made my face turn a funny colour but i can say they defiantly don't transfer anything, other than taking away your excess oil away leaving you with a slightly matte shine free face. One of the many great things about this product too is they have a pretty floral design on one side while the other is a mattiyfied paper which does all the magic.
So you can blot in style.

A definite all year round handbag staple they also work a treat on a night out if you've been in a packed bar  etc. (Great to take for extra clutch bag space.)

Kleenex Oil Blotting Sheets x50 retailing at £2.99 from Superdrug/Tesco

What products do you use to combat your shiny skin?
