Latest In Beauty Glamour Beauty Box Spring Edit

Tuesday 25 February 2014

With my birthday approaching yet again just like last year, (no really it is), i can't help but treat myself just a tiny bit.
Now with the spending ban in supposedly full swing i just couldn't help myself,
A box full of goodies worth goodness knows how much for just £14.95 erm hello to that!

So I finally received my beauty box at the beginning of the week so after about a week of trialling a few products these are my thoughts so far.
I'm more than impressed I think this one compared to the last is so so much better one let down though. I never got one of the those info cards telling me about the actual products etc, other than that so far so good!

There's a new invention in town the invisibobbles these are amazing and because of that they deserve a post of their own so watch this space!

The L'Oreal mascara was the only reason I actually wanted this box a new release at a bargain price sign me up.
I've tried it once with not the best of experiences going dog walking in the rain in the hills it didn't go as well as I wanted but none the the less the jury's still out on that one!

Cheeky Cosmetics Chat Me Up Nail Paint in Tongue & Cheek this formula looks great even with the thick wide-span brush definitely one for me to try out next!

I've acquired three of the Burt's Bees Lip Balms over past month or so.
I have to say they are not what i expected at all but the balm is super soft & glides over the lips giving an instant boost of moisture without the heavy greasy feeling with an added bonus of a lip plumping peppermint bee sting sensation too.

Percy & Reed Volumising Mousse adds to your hair texture and a smooth finishing touch. It doesn't leave a sticky residue but it does leave a lot of height with a definite voluminous do just by using a good pump or two smooched into the roots.

Just the concept of the rituals zensation foaming shower gel is something i've never seen before, can't wait to try it out.

This Daniel Sandler Lasting Waterproof Liner has the creamiest formulation i have ever tried.
It's in an aqua velvet blue shade which well be perfect for creating looks in summer.
I think i need to try more products in this brand.

Whats the best beauty box you've tried?

Maybelline Baby Lips Review | Minty Fresh

Monday 24 February 2014

After finally giving in to temptation especially on payday, i caved and purchased a baby lips balm, i wasn't quite sure what to expect but upon trying them out they were something quite normal i suppose.

The packaging is simple but super cute and defiantly colourful, product wise it's just your regular lip balm bullet with a twist up bottom.

Now onto the wondercoloured goodness....

I bought the one in minty fresh just because i wasn't sure which colour would suit me well nevertheless i think i made a good decision.

8 Hour Moisture SPF 20

So the thing with this product is, i expected more of a hard balm product which gave just a slight sheen to lips. How completely wrong was i.....

It glides onto my lips perfectly giving a glossy finish and to top it all off the flavour of mint gives me a feeling of freshness every time i apply.

The moisturising benefit lasts on the lips around 2-3 keeping them hydratated but without the glossy finish.

It has an SPF of 20
too so perfect for everyday use even better if the sun decides to shine this year!

I'm so glad to have tried these out even with the hype surrounding them they are one of the best I've tried  perfect handbag essential too & not so messy like my body shop lip balm tubs.

Maybelline Baby Lips £2.99

The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser Review

Sunday 23 February 2014

Now having heard from everyone as well as their cat & dog about the benefit porefessional primer i just could never justify spending so much on something which may not work or react badly to my skin so i just keep putting off for now.

So with the many amazing discounts The Body Shop has to offer i took them up on one yet again and purchased what i thought would be a great product.

The Claims
Makes pores look smaller. Infused with Community Fair Trade organic tea tree oil, it smoothes, primes and mattifies, and leaves skin feeling fresh and pure.

The product itself is a yellowy-green shade of which does have the distinct scent of tea tree which is understandable of course considering the name.
Texture wise I've found it to be creamy and instantly sink into my skin.

Results

With a pea sized amount it covers the areas where i need it mostly in the cheeks & t-zone,
as it does disappear within seconds once rubbed into the skin it really does make a great primer for layering underneath moisturiser as well as foundation even wearing it on its own on no make up days helps blur my imperfections while keeping my spots in check with the tea tree fighting properties.

As for the actual visibility of pores i can't say this product removes them from sight completely,
they do have the smoothed out appearance even slightly downsized,
just not completely gone.

This product makes applying make up that little bit better knowing i have a blemish fighting, pore minimising bottom layer to protect my skin instantly blurring the look of pores.

I honestly can't say bad things about this product for the price it is too,
 really its a win win.

Body Shop i salute you yet again a product I'm not disappointed by!

The Body Shop Pore Minimiser 30ml for £7.50

what primer could you not live without or recommend?

LFW Makeup Trends + EyeLook

Friday 21 February 2014

I've been loving all the LFW posts on every social network i use and this year I  just can't get enough, especially of the make up looks for these upcoming seasons.
The looks have been very neutral or a 'no make up' make up look. Orangey blood orange red lips were playing a massive part on the catwalks even lilac eyes & lips which I love btw, as well as contoured faces like always!
So with the endless possibilities make-up can give you i took some inspiration from the clothes i've seen to the make up looks and made my very own never to be worn in public look.
I'm not the best at switching up my look so why not experiment live on the wild side a little?

As you see my attempt at a pale pink shimmery contoured 'creation' without mascara. Yes it is little over the top but i worked with what i had, this is what my creative juices cook up.
Also below they're a few looks from multiple designers i've been liking recently too.

Hydraluron Serum Review

Sunday 16 February 2014

Seeing the hype surrounding the products from the indeed lab series and especially being intrigued about the particular Hydraluron Serum there was only one thing to do of course try it out for myself.

Reading reviews about the product before buying it, seemed the right thing to do after what i was reading i couldn't wait to get my hands on it.

What it could offer

Over time, this serum increases skin's hydration level and minimizes the need for frequent topical moisturising. This increase in moisture levels has been shown to increase skin elasticity and reduce surface roughness.

The product itself is a clear gel it has a thin formula which doesn't clog pores and is really lightweight. It's not scented either.

The Results

Even though i maybe 18 i still felt my skin needed a helping hand.

The main problem with my skin is it has a dry combination & is super oily at the same time. (trust me,not a good look)

So really to help combat the dryness this seemed like it could do the job.

After using the hydraluron in conjunction with my daily moisturiser for 2 - 3 months i saw an improvement in the elasticity of my skin after this time it did feel a lot more hydrated even smoother to touch.

However even though what i felt after this period of use my skin seemed great with only the tiniest of dry areas when i started using it less frequently, bam the dryness was back. This in a way showed the product actually works.
For this i can't praise it enough, it helped with my skins hydration problems to an extent.
But to me having my skin be dependent on something that if i discontinue to use in short spouts makes my skin go to ruins do i really want this part of my daily skin routine?

Although this product actually works wonders, I guess for me as much as i can say i like it i don't know if i love it enough to go repurchase at £24.00 a pop.
(FYI i thought the tube was going to be soooo much bigger before opening the box how i was so wrong!)

I did purchase this whilst on offer but even so I'm torn between whether or not it would be top of my list to rush out for just yet, I'll be sure to update when i finally have a decision.

Watch this space i may have found myself an alternative sort of.

Have you tried any indeed labs products?

Spending Ban Update Fail #1

Let me tell you spending money it's so easy to do, however not such a great thing when saving is the essential part of doing an actual spending ban.

January wasn't such a bad month.... well the first 2 weeks anyway,

The first two weeks were filled with temptation but after only spending a few pounds on repurchases, face wipes to be precise i defiantly had this in the bag...or so i thought (yeah yeah Becca I'm sure you do.)

After that it all went pretty much downhill,

The Nails Inc Sale,
ModelsOwn Sale,
Latest in Beauty Glamour Box,
My Birthday's just around the corner,

= A bad mixture of a well & truly first attempt fail at a spending ban.

Onwards and upwards though because if i don't start to save soon they'll be nothing but stuff filling my shoebox sized bedroom.

As for now New York is still just a dream........

Please tell me I'm not the only one bad at this!?

welcome to my newly updated blog!

Saturday 15 February 2014

After trying to update my blog design multiple times before i finally gave in to defeat because i fail when it comes to anything remotely HTML.

So of course something had to be done as i certainly couldn't do anything.

That's where i asked the help of Serena after a Sunday morning tweet and a great recommendation,

Serena who blogs over at PRETTYWILDTHINGS made my blog look amazing if i do say so myself,
its better than what i imagined she took from me some info and she used her bloody good wizard making blog design wand & skills and made me a design that i love.

For that i can't thank her enough, check out her blog
Even better if your looking for a new look well there's nowhere better to look than here.

50% Models Own Sale Haul

Sunday 2 February 2014

Well i guess you know what this means, my spending in ban isn't going so well as i anticipated it would any who I'll update you on my little progress shortly in the mean time enjoy my picks from the models own 50% sale!

I did take advantage of this late last year so i just couldn't resist with my buying habits, i really need to stop but does anyone else see a sale or even like the name of a polish so you just buy it?
Hopefully I'm not the only one who needs to hold their head in shame and attend shopaholics rehab!

So i added to my basket some 'essentials' & i think i spend my £25 wisely sort of.

First up is the Southern Lights Polish tis a be-a-u-ti full glittery lilac-grey holographic shade,- painting them with this as i type,

Then i wasn't sure about the hyper gel polishes as its a bit samey to whats already out there but curiosity bit me on the butt, thank god it did as the Red Lustre shade is the most true red Ive got in my collection its opaque within 1-2 coats, with the finish looking amazing, as for the Pink Veneer Ive still not made up my mind about that one I'm sure you'll find out what i think once its been tried.

My Matte Top Coat & Express Dry are my 'essentials' purchases as well as the brushes, they were something i wish I'd of picked up before in the previous sale so of course these has to be the first in my bag, no thoughts on these just yet as i haven't used them.
I do have high hopes though!

There we have it a spending ban fail but i have to say a damn good saving was made.

What did you pick up in the Models Own Sale?
Or the best saving you picked up recently?
